December 2018
Each year on Memorial Day weekend, thousands of people from across the globe gather in the birthplace of Techno to celebrate the heritage of Detroit and its musical influence over countless generations, new and old.

Movement Music Festival is one of the longest-running dance music events in the world, committed to showcasing authentic electronic music and providing an experience unlike any other. The festival takes place in Hart Plaza – Detroit’s legendary riverfront destination.

The Movement 2019 lineup reveal also features Detroit’s very own Danny Brown, DJ Bone as well as Detroit Techno legend Robert Hood performing as Floorplan – live. British House sensation Hot Since 82 will also take the stage. Other notable first-time Movement performances include: Amelie Lens, Chris Lake, DJ Nobu, Heiko Laux and Stephan Bodzin – live. More Movement festival acts will be announced in early 2019.
Techno, it's not just tracks and performances of your favorite dj on parties and raves. It is a whole culture, style, way of thinking and life. If the word techno means to you something more, I suggest to know more about its culture and origins.
Here is a list of 5 movies that will help in this.

Film " Feiern "("Don't Forget to Go Home")

Filmed in 2006, it is dedicated to the style of techno and club culture of Berlin. The 82-minute documental picture features a party that doesn't stop for days. On the example of Panoramabar, it is  shown what is happening in the club and on the backstage, paying attention to the regulars of parties, famous DJs give interviews: Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Ewan Pearson.
The film reveals all facets, from positive to negative moments.
The film "Feiern" (in German sounds like a party, a celebration) also has a second name - "Don't Forget to Go Home". This is a statement by a Londoner, Evan Pearson, who has been in Berlin for a long time. This statement reflects the concept of many clubs in Berlin, clubs do not close their doors for several days in a row, becoming a second home for the Ravers.

02. Isolee-Krypt

Berlin the City of Techno/Electronic Music

As for techno music, Berlin is one of the few cities that is  perfect for techno events. Most people know Berghain and Tresor, but believe me, Berlin has something to surprise, there are more popular clubs in the city.
The first rave parties began in the dashing 1990s in abandoned basements and empty industrial buildings. Now there are no analogues of the Berlin techno scene. No other city has as many techno and electro clubs as Berlin.
This is the club Mecca not only for European tourists. Every weekend clubbers from all over the world come here for the celebration of life within the walls of this variety of parties and events. Berlin has become the club capital of the world due to its diversity, uniqueness, accessibility and friendliness.

The underground sounds of Paris

It`s a wonderful documentary about the techno scene in Paris. Over the past few years, the French capital has been able to match a little Berlin in the number of vinyl stores and underground clubs, enveloping the city with techno vibrations.

Soundtrack (in order of appearance): Particles Elémentaires-Francois X / / Dement3d Records-New York Collage (LX Re-Fried Chicken Version) - Hugo LX // Mona Musique Drifting Away - Hugo LX // Mona Musique 2 Miles Away - DJulz & Phil Weeks // Rex Club Music Absent - Romain Poncet // Deeply Rooted - Atanol - Romain Poncet // Deeply Rooted - Ligne B - DJulz & Phil Weeks // Rex Club Music - Journey Home - Antigone & Francois X // Dement3d records - juice - ( djebali ) records

Berlin Calling

If you do not really like documentaries, then this one you just have to taste. Many watch it 5 or 6 times and find a new face in each view. On the example of DJ Ickarus played by the unsurpassed Paul Kalkbrenner we see a real life of DJ with all the ups and downs. Gorgeous soundtracks actor only adds immersion to the character and image of the hero. This is a great film for all time, shot in 2008. Sincerely recommend to watch.

What kind of rave are you going to?

Article by : Ольга Година

Imagine the craziest party in your life, multiply it in 10 times, but even this simple arithmetic will not reflect the madness of what is happening behind these walls.

Let's start with the building, it is so industrial, large, powerful, reflecting the needs of the city and people from all over the world who want to join this incredible experience.

The queue in which you must humbly stand from 30 minutes to 4-5 hours depending on time, day and line-up. No VIP, tables, only a guest list for a few lucky ones who know for sure that they will get into the gates of the techno church and stay there for a few days.
The place is a cult, a place of communication, a place of interest, a place of power and incredible techno and sound that penetrates you from the inside and dissolves it into molecules.
Facecontrol, it is not only the famous Sven Marquardt, but his assistants also. If a line up lasts more than one day, the toughest facecontrol in your life will be under its scope.

In Berghain you can do everything, the ban applies only to photos and videos.

If you want to go completely naked through the club, welcome, you want to wear a harness, latex and fetish attributes, you are in the right place. Want sex? This is not a problem, a lot of toilets and a dark room will make your desires and lust be as comfortable as possible. For Berghain, everything is the normal, which does not hamper your freedom. When you put a stamp that will not be erased even from rubbing with the soap on your hand, you got a pass to heaven, although for most this place will seem like hell, Sodom and Gomorrah, but if you are gathered for a normal life, you have absolutely nothing to do in these walls.

Berghain, in addition to music, is entirely his underground epic audience, giving it atmosphere and emotion. I will not forget the grandfather after 70, who was in a classy suit of the beginning of the XX century danced in the middle of the dance floor, and he gives odds to the young.

All the best friends, positive, there is no gloom and bad mood. By entering the club, you become an ecosystem of what is happening. Perhaps that is why it is at the entrance such strict facecontrol, because any mistake is fraught with failure and coherence of this place, which beats to the heart more precisely than any Swiss watch.

Berghain. Don`t forget to go home.
